The South
Carolina State Library presents award-winning authors Nina Crews and Brian Lies
at StoryfestSC 2014—the state’s summer reading kick-off event. This year’s
slogan is Fizz Boom Read!
All public libraries in South Carolina will participate in this collaborative summer reading program. Events will be held on Saturday, June 7 at the South Carolina State Museum at 301 Gervais Street from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be free to the public. Events include presentations by each author, storytelling, crafts, face painting and visits from popular characters.
Nina Crews is
the author of One Hot Summer Day, The Neighborhood Mother Goose, Below The
Neighborhood Sing-Along and Jack and the Beanstalk.
Brian Lies
illustrated his first book, Flatfoot Fox and the Case of the Missing Eye. Since
then, he has illustrated over twenty-five books including Bats at the Ballgame,
Bats at the Beach, Bats at the Library, Hamlet and the Enormous Chinese Dragon
Kite, and Hamlet and the Magnificent
